Hey folks, if you’re out and about in Dublin tonight and hankering for some live music to go with your beer, then pop along to the Mercantile on Dame St for some State vs Sweet Oblivion action.

The lovely folk at State (where I have contributed articles over the past couple of years) asked me did I want to do one of their State vs...gigs and I was only delighted to take part.

Unfortunately, Laura Sheeran, who I had asked to play the gig, had to drop out due to a family illness, so we will be without her wonderful presence on the night. (I’m sending good thoughts to her and her family).

But we do have two rockin bands playing – nordy band Kowalski, and Dublin’s Kid Karate, neither of whom I’ve seen live yet so I am rather looking forward to it.

The gig kicks off at 9.30pm, it’s FREE in and if it’s like any of the other State gigs, it should be a fab night.
